The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse: Once upon a time, there were two mice, one living in the town and the other in the country. The town mouse decided to visit his cousin in the countryside. When he arrived, the country mouse was very happy to see his cousin and offered him tasty ladoos and fresh milk.
As they enjoyed their meal, the town mouse had an idea. He said, “Why not come with me to the city? I’ll show you all the delicious food we get to eat there!” The country mouse, excited by the idea of trying new food, agreed and decided to go to the city with his cousin.
In the city, they entered a big dining hall filled with all kinds of yummy treats, like grains and fish. The country mouse was amazed at the variety of food. However, his excitement turned to fear when he heard growling and barking sounds. The town mouse explained, “Oh, don’t worry! It’s just the dogs. They won’t harm us.”
But the country mouse was not used to such noises, and he became very frightened. He didn’t want to stay in a place where there were scary sounds. “Goodbye, cousin. I think I’d rather eat grains and milk peacefully in the countryside than eat cakes and be scared,” said the country mouse, and he quickly scurried away back to his home in the countryside.
And so, the country mouse learned that sometimes simple and peaceful things are better than fancy treats if they come with fear. The two mice remained friends but preferred the comfort and safety of their own homes.
Moral: Living peacefully is better than living in fear.
