The Four Brothers and the Lion: Once upon a time, a poor Brahmin’s four sons taught his sons all the Vedas and the holy scriptures. After their parents’ death, they decided to go and stay with their grandfather. Although, when they reached there, they found that they were not welcome and that their cousins did not accept them. So, the brothers decided to go out and live separately, learn a special skill, and meet back at a common place after they got skilled.
After some time, they met again. Each brother shared what they had learnt. The first one said, “I can create flesh from a single bone of a creature.” The second one said, “I know how to grow the hair and skin of a creature if it has flesh and bones.” The third one said, “I can create the limbs of a creature if it has skin, hair, flesh, and bones.” The fourth one said, “I know how to give life to a creature once it is complete with limbs.”
They went into the forest to find a piece of bone to test their skills. They found a lion’s bone. Each of them displayed his skill and created a huge, live lion. Sadly, the lion killed all four brothers and ran away.
Now the Question: “Who among the four brothers is responsible for their deaths?”
Ans: “The fourth brother, as he was the one who gave life to the otherwise dead structure of bones, flesh, limbs, and hair.”
