The Cunning Mediator: Once upon a time, there was a little partridge who had a beautiful home in the hole of a tree. One sunny day, while exploring the forest, she stumbled upon a place filled with delicious ripe rice. Excited about her find, she decided to stay there and enjoy the tasty rice, forgetting about her cozy tree hole.
After a few days, the partridge thought of her tree home and happily hopped back. But, to her surprise, a hare had made himself comfortable in her house. The partridge, feeling puzzled, asked the hare why he was there. The hare replied that the hole was empty, and it wasn’t the partridge’s home anymore.
Not agreeing with the hare, the partridge, and the hare began to argue. Their voices rose, and their argument caught the attention of a sly cat nearby. The cat, wanting to take advantage of the situation, came over disguised as a kind saint.
Seeing the cat, the partridge, and the hare decided to talk to him and find a solution. The cat, pretending to be wise, agreed to help them settle their dispute. He suggested they come a bit closer, saying that his old ears couldn’t hear very well.
Trusting the cat’s words, the partridge and the hare went closer to him. But, oh no! The cat wasn’t a saint at all. In a quick move, he pounced on them, revealing his wicked plan.
The story teaches us to be careful whom we trust and to think twice before getting too close to strangers. The partridge and the hare learned the importance of being cautious, especially when dealing with someone they don’t know well.
