Normally the way most of us view gambling is just as a game of chance. We either luck out or we eat crow, and live to play another day.. His accolades from the World Series of Poker to many other events would take forever to list.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His main weapon is psychological warfare and his “Brunson hand\u201d, a ten-deuce suited, is legendary. He is willing to play the lamest hands over and over, that few others would play, and do so convincingly and boldly. He had 25 million upon his death two years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

Blackjack Counting Pioneer Edward O. Thorp<\/span><\/h2>\n

Of course, we\u2019ve all heard of tons of people getting kicked out of casinos for \u201ccheating\u201d in blackjack. Throp was the wise guy who started them all. He had a background in math, so he wrote the whole book on how to <\/span>count the cards left in the deck<\/span><\/a> and when to hit and when to fold. He sparked a revolution. Casinos saw a target on their back and had to alter their decks, using multiple decks instead of just one and implemented shuffling machines to counteract systems like Thorp\u2019s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Edward Thorp\u2019s net worth is estimated at about $800 million, from other ventures too, not just gambling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kerry Packer: Billionaire Mogul<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sometimes, in order to win big you have to have the bank account to do it. Although he might have had an advantage starting out, he was more talented that you might think. Many say \u2013 one of the best of all time.. He was certainly skilled in the media business but he also won huge sums at the blackjack tables. He is mean and ruthless. He likes to apply the pressure and scare even seasoned pros into folding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His annual vacations making it rain in casinos have netted him wins in the millions. His affinity for huge calculated risks translated well to cards as well .<\/span><\/p>\n

They don\u2019t call this Englishman a wizard for nothing. It\u2019s because he\u2019s Mr. cool all the time, as if he doesn\u2019t have warm blood. He also locks on with razor sharp eyes. A lot of that confidence comes from his math degree at the University of Manchester. He won Australian Poker Championships and many others and even mopped the floor in horse racing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Billy Walters: Sports Betting Hall of Fame<\/span><\/h2>\n

He joined the Computer Group, which used <\/span>intelligent computer models<\/span><\/a> to predict sporting events, a bit of a real-world Biff. Only one year in the four decades that be bet did he lose more money than he took home. His bets weren\u2019t limited to just a single sport. It included American football \u2013 both college and the pros.\u00a0 He bet on the Saints to win the Super Bowl and won 3.5 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

A lot of sportsbooks refused to engage in bets with him. For that reason, he actually bet through proxies without their knowledge. His winning rate of 57% is almost unheard of in pro sports, where professional gamblers strive to maintain 53% but bet large sums to overcome the additional vig that gets subtracted out of wins.<\/span><\/p>\n

Secrets that Gambling Professionals Share<\/span><\/h2>\n

Now, of course these pro gamblers come in all shapes and sizes, and a lot of them are perceived as being defined by their novelty and approaching the game in ways no one had every conceived of. The reality though is they do share a lot of common traits, traits that you can replicate yourself next time you go to a casino.<\/span><\/p>\n

And that budget is best not to set as more than 10% of your actual income on a regular basis. Some of the people on this list already had massive fortunes too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t fall for fallacies too. There are many myths out there that are odd that anybody believes them, yet they do. For instance, some people believe that after they\u2019ve biffed several hands in a row, they must be due for some wins right around the corner. This isn\u2019t reality. Then there are people who want to hit it bit so bad that they can\u2019t stop.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Or suppose they win a big hand, and they assume that because it started off positive, that\u2019s the way it\u2019s going to go, as if they have some magic on there side. Magic doesn\u2019t exist.<\/span><\/p>\n

A lot of these people saw mathematical patterns that applied poker, blackjack, and sports betting at the time. If you have a sport that you love and you think you can outsmart everybody, there are ways to run laps around your opponents if you\u2019re willing to commit yourself to know the game ten times better than them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You may perhaps be able to use machine learning to spot certain weaknesses in the way casinos and other players play that could lead to you destroying your competition routinely. In most of the most popular sports like baseball and football, data analytics companies could be hard to beat. But less popular sports like darts and table tennis lend more of an opportunity for you to become a legend and take advantage of other people\u2019s gaffes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Psychological Warfare<\/span><\/h3>\n

This is quite the weapon when you are going head to head against another human being whose thinking is impacted by emotions, as we all are. The more you do it, the more you can read somebody\u2019s body language at a poker table.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, people who keep a \u201cpoker face\u201d are more of a challenge, but people can only go so long before they make their feelings known. Once people eat crow in a couple hands, you can start to exploit it.
