Love story in english: There was a king named Raja Harish in Varanasi. He had a son named Vijay. The king’s minister had a son named Rajat. Vijay and Rajat were best friends. They did everything together, including going hunting.
One day, they went to the forest to hunt but got separated while chasing a deer. After some time, Vijay realized he had gone too far and decided to return. As he was heading back, he saw a beautiful palace with a lovely garden full of flowers and a small temple.
Vijay was tired and decided to rest in the garden. Just as he was about to lie down, the gardener came and said, “Traveler, you must leave. The princess is coming to worship, and she will scold me if she sees you here.” Vijay agreed and began to prepare his horse to leave.
Soon, the princess arrived with her friends. Vijay was stunned by her beauty and couldn’t stop staring. She noticed him too and felt attracted. She performed a curious act with a lotus flower: she touched it to her ears, bit it, put it under her foot, and then touched it to her heart. Then she left, and so did Vijay, though he was very sad because he couldn’t forget her.
On his way back, Vijay met Rajat, who noticed his sadness and asked why. At first, Vijay didn’t say anything, but Rajat insisted, so Vijay told him the whole story. Rajat asked what the princess did when she saw him. Vijay described her actions with the lotus flower. Rajat smiled and said, “She lives in Karnataka, is the daughter of King Dantav and her name is Padmavati. She loves you!”
Vijay was happy and they decided to go to King Dantav’s city. There, they found an old woman who visited the princess daily. They asked to stay with her, and she agreed. The next day, Rajat asked the old woman to deliver a message to the princess, saying that the man she saw in the temple had come. The woman was afraid but agreed.
When the woman told the princess, she smeared sandal paste on her cheek, slapped the woman five times, and pushed her out. The woman returned, worried, but Rajat laughed. He explained that the princess meant to wait five days. After five days, the princess slapped the woman with an inked hand and sent her out through the west door. Rajat said this meant Vijay should meet her at the west door at night.
That night, Vijay met the princess. They spent the night together, but Vijay was sad the next day because the princess told him her father had arranged her marriage to someone else. Rajat thought of a plan. He gave Vijay a trident and told him to mark the princess’s thigh and take her jewelry. Vijay hesitated but did it.
Rajat disguised himself as a sage and Vijay as his disciple. They went to a temple, and Vijay tried to sell the jewelry. The jeweler recognized it and reported to the king’s men. Vijay led them to Rajat, who claimed a witch had come to him, and he had marked her thigh and taken her jewelry.
The king checked and found the mark on the princess. He expelled her from the kingdom. Vijay then met the princess, explained everything, and they married and lived happily ever after.
Now the Question: Who is at fault in this story?
Answer: The king is at fault because he expelled the princess without consideration.
